Ice Skating

The man and I spent most of our dating year ice skating. He loved it. I enjoyed it. It was fun. We were together. What more could you want, right? Well, as the children came (hmmm...sounds almost like a soap opera), it was more and more difficult to ice skate. Little legs are not very sturdy on the ice, and, frankly, it gets old having to hold them up. Since Sweet Pea is now three and the others older respectively, we thought that maybe, just maybe it would be possible for all of us to go. And....it was!

AJ did amazingly well. We have taken him a handful of times. His ankles did turn in most of the time but he made it without our help.

They gave Sweet Pea a metal thing to help her stay up, so she was able to skate by herself for the most part.

And then there was TA. The rink would not let him have a metal helper, so we had to help him. He was very frustrated. There were many tears and much whining.

But....eventually he figured it out..and we had....

Of Course you would have to know TA...but he still spent lots of time like...

and then it is always fun to just crawl across the ice

or just lay there when you fall.

But....they had a great time. We were able to skate and not just hold people up, and we will definitely try it again.

Of course we can't go when there will be too many other people there. Trust me. My children are ice hazards.
